SINOPSIS:

The film introduces ATELIER CENTRAL (AC), and presents a brief summary of the architects’ office work. It illustrates four relevant projects in detail and offers a perspective on the brand image work done for companies such as General Motors, BMW and PSA. The producers, Bold Creative Studio, and the directors, Daniel Espírito Santo and Tiago Ribeiro, in collaboration with AC, tried to capture and reveal the idea behind each project inception; the idea guiding and structuring each project conception.

PROJECT:

ATELIER CENTRAL (AC) was founded on March 1996 by architects José Martinez and Miguel Beleza, who graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon (FAUTL) in 1989. The office works internationally, providing architectural, interior, retail and product design, masterplanning and engineering, for the private, public and corporate sectors.

Each challenge is faced with enthusiasm and responsibility, regardless of its purpose or dimension. We are inspired by excellence values. We always try to make the creative process as participative as it can be, engaging customers and all other parties involved, so that we all work together as a team. The design process is supposed to achieve a consistent idea, always respecting the location, surroundings and history. It must have its own identity, without forgetting the creative and intelligent management of the available resources, in order to meet budget and schedule.

Specialized in brand design, AC has been working as a corporate design consultant for General Motors Portugal since 1990. The accumulated experience and received training allowed AC to increase and strengthen its presence in such an aggressive market. Currently AC is working for BMW Group, Opel, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda, Citroën, Mitsubishi and Honda.
